THE NOCTURNAL CITY

To commence the journey of the magazine, the first issue goes beyond the material tangibility that an urban-centric magazine typically would use as a starting point. The inaugural edition focuses on nightlife and aims to interpret life of the nocturnal city - whether the tangible or intangible.  The darkness and the night is a foundational element of many urban spaces and is a neglected dimension that comprises the complexity of urbanity. Looking at the city through the nocturnal lens thus recognizes the nights as an interesting source of life where both individual and collective organisations are created in relation to the city. The nighttime is a multifaceted period in which multiple nocturnal stakeholders define urban identities and create a significant impact to socio-cultural life and urban fabric of cities.
